THIS IS A CONTRACT ROLE FULLY ONSITE IN NASHVILLE, TN (37208).
Position Summary:
Coordinates and manages office activities and workflow processes to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the department. Performs administrative support duties and makes work-related decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position may oversee the work activities of lower-level support personnel.
Essential Functions:
- Acts as liaison with other departments, faculty, staff, students, and external organizations.
- Administers and coordinates department activities, office services, and the work activities of lower-level support personnel. Assists in the development and implementation of office procedures and work schedules. Plans, schedules, and facilitates meetings.
- Composes, formats, and types correspondence using PC applications. Responds to inquiries regarding department policies, procedures, and functions.
- Monitors, compiles, and interprets department budgetary and financial items.
- Assists with administrative tasks and the operation of programs, activities, and functions.
- Assists with special projects.
- Ensures that office systems (copiers, computers, phones, etc.) are in good working order and organized, and that supplies are ordered in a timely manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of institutional policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
- Demonstrated proficiency in various PC-based applications, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize duties with minimal supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong composition and editing abilities.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree from a college or university, with a minimum of four (4) years of related experience, is required. Alternatively, a minimum of eight (8) years of related work experience will be accepted if no degree.
